WEMA BANK SHUTS DOWN AMIDST ROBBERY THREATS

Yesterday Wema Bank Okuku stopped normal operations within the banking hall after they received threats of robbery from hoodlums. It was reported that the staffs were on lock down in the building and customers were denied entry into the banking hall, only customers using the ATM machine were able to complete their business at the bank yesterday.

Lots of customers who were at the bank were left frustrated as they were unable to perform transactions in the bank. One customer who is a student of Osun State University, Okuku campus said ‘I've been here for 2 hours and they’ve refused to let me in, I seriously need to send money to my sister in Ilorin today’ she said in a very frustrated tone. However, the bank has since been reopened for normal services today.

You cant blame the bank officials for trying to be precautionary, however, I wonder whether if disallowing customers from entering into the bank can stop a robbery if truly it was going to happen. Armed robbers won't come in form of innocent customers if they truly mean business.

Well, we pray anything like that doesn’t happen here in Okuku at any time, if you have ever witnessed a bank robbery you'll know what I'm talking about.

That’s that, safe journey to those traveling home tomorrow and those leaving by Saturday. Have a fun-filled holiday. You can count on Bleech for more fresh info during the holz.
