Wife arrested for bathing soldier husband with acids, after food poisoning failed.

Military authorities in Ilorin, Kwara State capital have arrested a middle-aged housewife (name withheld) who allegedly killed her soldier- husband for yet unknown reasons. The incident occurred last week, according to reliable sources at the 22 Armoured Brigade, Sobi, Ilorin, catching many residents of the Block 55 home of the deceased by surprise. The sources confirmed that the case had been transferred to the police command following the death of the soldier.
The woman was alleged to have bathed her husband with acid at about 10.00p.m, few weeks after she had allegedly attempted to terminate his life through food poisoning. Indeed, the man had just returned from the military hospital where he received treatment for food poisoning before the latest incident that led to his death.
The deceased, identified simply as Sergeant Kayode, a native of Ilofa in Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State, while the wife hailed from a community in Kaduna State. They had two children from their union. The deceased, believed to have been in his 40s, was working with the Supply and Transport Corps of the Brigade before his untimely death.
